A serviced apartment is a Licence To Occupy (LTO) apartment within a retirement village facility that has been certified as providing rest home-level care that meets the standard set out in the Health and Disability Services (Safety) Act 2001.

Do I need to purchase a service package if I live in a serviced apartment?

Do I need to purchase a service package if I live in a serviced apartment?

Yes, we do require serviced apartment residents to purchase one of the four Summerset service packages. The entry level option is the Supported Living package. 

Can I change my service package after I move in?

Can I change my service package after I move in?

Yes, you can switch to any of our other options, including rest home-level care, should your needs change, without leaving your home. You can also add optional extras to specific packages if you wish.

As part of living in a community we need to ensure that all pets will be comfortable in the village. For this reason you will need to talk to your village manager about their suitability.

One of the benefits of living in a care apartment is being able to entertain your family and friends in your own home when they come to visit. It’s your home, your family are welcome to stay. Please talk to your village manager if you want family or friends to stay for longer than a week.
