We work with these organisations to bring you the best retirement villages in New Zealand.
All retirement villages are required to have a statutory supervisor. We have chosen the Public Trust, for its proven ability to represent our residents’ interests. The repayment of the money owing to you when you terminate your Licence to Occupy is secured by a first mortgage issued to Public Trust. This provides everyone living in a Summerset village peace of mind.
Summerset is leading the way in terms of village design by being the first New Zealand retirement village group to receive the Lifemark – an assurance your home will be right for your stage of life. Lifemark is an independent seal of approval, based on a set of simple, common sense design standards, that makes it safe and easy for people to live independently in their own home as they age. Today, all of our new buildings have achieved the Lifemark standard.
The Retirement Villages Association
We are a member of the Retirement Villages Association (RVA) and our CEO Julian Cook is a member of this important organisation's executive committee. The Association assures you that our practices and processes are in accordance with the standing legislation and that we are committed to providing the highest levels of service to residents.
New Zealand Aged Care Association
Summerset is a long-standing member of New Zealand Aged Care Association and is committed to providing high quality long-term and short-term residential care. New Zealand Aged Care Association (NZACA), is a not-for-profit, national membership organisation which represents all parts of the aged-care residential sector such as rest home operators. Our members provide long and short term residential services to the over 65 age group.
